Our goal as your orthodontists is to provide you with a rewarding experience that leaves you smiling for years to come. We love working with all of our patients and watching as their smiles, and their confidence transforms with each treatment they receive. We promise to give you and your family the attention, treatments, and results that you expect and deserve. We are passionate about our work as orthodontists, and it shows with each smile we create! Meet Dr. Mark HigginbottomAs an orthodontist, I believe in the amazing benefits of a beautiful smile; and as your orthodontist, I want to help you achieve a smile that gives you the confidence and happiness you deserve. I was born and raised right here in Easton so I feel a great connection to the wonderful community I serve, and I consider all of my patients to be like family. From my fellow dentists and peers, to my dedicated office staff, to my wonderful patients who put a smile on my face, every day I am reminded why I chose to become an orthodontist! Education I received a BA degree in biology from Syracuse University, graduating magna cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa honors—honors from the nation’s oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. My dental school education was at the University of Pennsylvania where I received a doctor of dental medicine (DMD). From that university I went to the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where I received my Certificate in Orthodontics. It was also at that institution that I was recruited to teach in the Department of Orthodontics as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthodontics. Continuing EducationI strongly believe in continuing education as a way to stay current on the latest products and treatment techniques in orthodontics. I regularly participate in continuing education through being a member of several orthodontic and dental associations, including:
I value the time I spend with my family, so when I am away from the practice you can often find me in the company of my loved ones. My wife, Rhonda, and I have three grown sons, three daughters-in-law, one precious granddaughter and a grandson on the way. I am very proud of my family, and welcoming new family members into my life is such a joy! In addition to spending time with my family, I enjoy music, playing tennis, traveling, and raising thoroughbred horses. Music, especially the piano, organ, and singing ensembles have always played an important role in my life, and I actively participate in a variety of music program at my church and within the Easton community. |

Erik Higginbottom’s Curriculum Vitae Continuing Education I believe in the benefits of continuing education as a way to stay up-to-date with current orthodontic products and treatment techniques. I participate in continuing education as a way to continue offering the best, most effective treatments to my patients. I enjoy going to various courses around the country and listening to world renowned lecturers discuss the most up-to-date treatment philosophies. Even Outside of the Practice, Smiling is a BIG Part of Dr. Erik’s life When I’m away from the practice I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife, Melissa, and I met in high school and were married in 2003. Melissa is a pediatric hygienist and she really enjoys her job working with children. We are both excited that we are expecting our first child (a boy) in November 2010. In addition to spending time with family, I love being outdoors and on the water, watching sports, cheering on my favorite teams, and playing golf! There isn’t a sport that I don’t enjoy! My favorite teams are the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, and Baltimore Orioles! Community involvement is also important to me. I am involved with the Young Professionals of Talbot County, and am an Assistant Coach of Easton High School’s Men’s Varsity Soccer Team. ![]() |
